Ganz schön still hier in der Elbphilharmonie, finden Anton und Matilda, beide 12 Jahre alt. Klar, während der Pandemie ist es an vielen Orten ungewöhnlich still. Mit ihrer Klasse 6b vom Gymnasium Allee in Hamburg Altona lauschen die beiden in die Stille: Gibt es so etwas wie stille Musik? Und wie klingt wohl musikalische Langeweile?
Musik machen ohne Musik
Anton, Matilda, Anne und Lutz spielen das Stück »4'33''« von John Cage.
Der amerikanische Komponist war ein Scherzkeks und ein kluger Philosoph zugleich. In seiner Musik experimentierte er mit Geräuschen und mit Dingen, die zufällig passieren: jemand, der sich die Nase putzt zum Beispiel, oder ein hupendes Auto – all das war in Cages Ohren Musik. Auch die Stille ist nach seinem Verständins pure Musik. Man hört den eigenen Atem, die Autos auf der Straße, das Summen einer Fliege. In dem Stück »4'33''« wird keine einzige Note gespielt, und trotzdem passiert ganz viel – wenn man genau hinhört.
