Portico Quartet: Terrain

Cinematic jazz event

From London to Liverpool: the British jazz scene has been electrifying the music world for decades. It’s almost impossible to say where the movement started. But one thing is certain: the Portico Quartet from London were there from the very beginning and have been highly influential in its development. In changing instrumental line-ups, Portico has been opening traditional concepts of jazz to ethnic influences, minimal music and electronic music concepts since 2005. Improvised music meets beats, ambient expanses and a virtually inexhaustible reservoir of sounds.
