Explore the Elbphilharmonie on 18 and 19 June 2022

Where are the lights controlled from during a concert? What does the organ actually look like from the inside? And where do the artists go during the interval? If you would like to find out all this and many other exciting things about the Elbphilharmonie, the Elbphilharmonie Open Days are just the place for you!

On 18 and 19 June, the building opens all its doors and invites visitors on their own voyage of discovery. The foyers, the concert halls and the plaza are freely accessible, with short guided tours and special demonstrations offering insights into the stage technologies, plus the backstage and administration areas. In other words, a glimpse into the inner workings of our concerts. Participation in the short backstage tours is possible without advance reservation and is subject to availability.

Information stands and expert guides with a wealth of background knowledge are on hand at various points throughout the building. In addition, a wide range of music performed on three different stages will ensure an upbeat mood throughout. It’s well worth a visit!

Booking & Admission

  • A maximum of 6 tickets can be booked per person
  • The ticket enables admission at the selected visiting time. Please arrive at the entrance at that time
  • The combined ticket includes access to the concert hall discovery tour; there is no need to purchase a separate single ticket for this
  • Babies up to 1 year of age do not require a separate ticket

  • All ages are welcome
  • Performances, workshops and hotel guided tours are recommended for ages 6 and upwards
  • Short tours and events in the Grand Hall are also available in English
  • The restaurants in the Elbphilharmonie are open

Single tickets for »Open Day« :Tour of discovery through the foyers, concert halls and backstage areas of the Elbphilharmonie

The discovery tour lasts for approx. 120 minutes. Admission at the main entrance of the Elbphilharmonie is at the beginning of the booked visiting time (the time stated on the ticket). Late admission is possible up to a maximum of 20 minutes after this start time.

Combined tickets with a workshop

Make music with others – even if you don’t have any previous playing experience! The instrument workshops last for 30 or 45 minutes and are recommended for ages 6 and upwards. Admission is possible from 20 minutes before the start of the workshop via the Kaistudios on the 2nd floor (access via the north entrance, to the right of the escalator). Afterwards, Open Day visitors can then embark on their own independent discovery tour around the concert halls (approx. 120 minutes).

Combined tickets with hotel tour

The hotel guided tours last for approx. 30 minutes, after which Open Day visitors can embark on their own discovery tour around the concert halls (approx. 120 minutes). Admission at the entrance to »The Westin Hamburg« at the forecourt of the Elbphilharmonie is possible from 20 minutes before the start of the tour. The meeting point is the hotel lobby on the 8th floor (accessible by elevator). Tours will begin on time, and are recommended for ages 6 and upwards.
