Tetzlaff Quartett / musica assoluta
Haydn / Britten / Berio
Absolutely Tetzlaff
A very special portrait concert: the premiere of Schönberg’s rarely performed String Quartet No. 1 in Vienna in 1907 ended in a riot. On this evening it brings this extraordinary concert to a glorious close. Before that, the four members of the Tetzlaff Quartet perform as soloists alongside the musica assoluta ensemble. All four are known for their explicitly soloistic qualities, which they demonstrate through popular works such as Joseph Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C Major, Jean Sibelius’s Humoresques, Benjamin Britten’s »Lachrymae« and exciting contemporary sounds by Luciano Berio. All in perfect harmony with the musica assoluta chamber orchestra under Thorsten Encke.
