Ray Chen & Friends
Wolf / Mozart / Ysaÿe – Hamburg International Music Festival
Music with friends
Berlin has been the adopted home of Ray Chen, the top Australian violinist with Taiwanese roots, for some time now. So it seems natural it would be here he gets together with friends to make chamber music. It is particularly fortuitous however when these friends also happen to hold leading positions with the Berlin Philharmonic. And so it came to pass that Ray Chen forms the quartet »Made in Berlin« alongside the orchestra’s first concertmaster Noah Bendix-Balgley, the first principal violist Amihai Grosz and the cellist Stephan Koncz. Together, the four of them explore the multi-layered chamber music repertoire in various different formations.
