Minguet Quartett
Beethoven / Ruzicka
Who would be better suited to premiere a new string quartet by Peter Ruzicka than the Minguet Quartett? The internationally renowned ensemble is well acquainted with string quartet literature, from the classic-romantic period to brand new works by Wolfgang Rihm and Jörg Widmann, among others.
The Minguet Quartett received the prestigious ECHO Klassik prize for their recording of the »complete« string quartets by Ruzicka – six at the time. Now, the composer is entrusting the world premiere of this latest string quartet to them. It is entitled »… possible-à-chaque-instant« and refers to the preceding work performed that evening: Ruzicka re-imagines Beethoven’s late c-sharp minor quartet from its »horizon of possibilities«, which he has developed further with his own seventh string quartet. His goal is to show that a composition is not something fixed, instead he wants to let the audience participate in the process of creation.
