Carl-Philipp-Emanuel-Bach-Chor Hamburg
»Vivat Carl Philipp«
25 years of the Carl-Philipp-Emanuel-Bach-Chor Hamburg
The Magnificat, in which Mary expresses her love of God, and in which Mary is herself celebrated as the embodiment of love among humankind, is the fiery and jubilant opening work in this concert marking the Carl-Philipp-Emanuel-Bach-Chor’s anniversary year. The second part of the evening opens with a short work commissioned from the Hamburg composer Fredrik Schwenk especially for this concert. It borrows motifs from Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s Ascension Oratorio, connecting almost 250 years of music history.
