The Composers’ Ensemble was formed by the famous soprano Mary Wiegold and the composer John Woolrich in 1989, and premiered more than 200 works during its ten years of concert activity. Last year, Mary Wiegold and her son Ben Voce decided to bring the ensemble back to life with the musicians of the Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin – under the name The New Composers’ Ensemble. Its members are equally at home with Renaissance music or pop.
