Krzysztof Urbański caused quite a stir in recent seasons with interpretations of Shostakovich and Prokofiev. Two further works by the Russians are now on the programme, and the American cellist Alisa Weilerstein finally makes her long-planned guest performance with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra with Shostakovich’s Second Cello Concerto.
