How do people experience the final hours before death? Rail against fate, face the end with gallows humour, or look back with satisfaction at a life well lived? The stage production »Kolik« takes this situation and holds one last monologue as death approaches. The show is based on Rainald Goetz’s hugely successful play of the same name from the 1980s.

Goetz, who qualified as a doctor and has a PhD in history, is a stage provocateur of the first order, a »brilliant post-punk poet, beer drinker, and hater of the world and culture industry«, as Spiegel magazine once described him. Accompanied by an acclaimed German-Swiss instrumental ensemble (Kaleidoskop soloists’ ensemble and guests), Sarah Maria Sun takes on the absurd main role. Alongside the composers Leo Hofmann and Jannik Giger as well as director Benjamin van Bebber, Sun was significantly involved in the work’s conception.
