The Norddeutsche Klangakademie is celebrating their opening concert of season 2021 with brilliant works of two genius musicians from Hamburg: Fanny & Felix Mendelssohn. Their romantic world of sound is interpreted by the South Korean pianist Jongdo An, who is an artistic director of the Norddeutsche Klangakademie since 2018 and a winner of Grand Prix in the prestigious Long Thibaud Crespin International Piano Competition Paris.

The Norddeutsche Klangakademie is an innovative & holistic cultural project based in Hamburg, Germany. Since their launch in 2018, they’ve been hosting international scholars in music, history, arts as well as technicians and offering lectures as well as masterclasses in diverse topics in depths. The subject is not only limited to music, but also about literature, history, cultural & political background when a particular music was written so that performers and audiences can approach music with more profound interpretation.

Vision of the Norddeutsche Klangakademie is to encourage an interdisciplinary exchange of music. Wide participation of experts in musicologists, composers and art historians, the interpretation of music elevates further in a new holistic way. They have been introducing music from the Northern German composers such as C.P.E Bach, J. Mattheson, J.A. Reincken, D.Buxtehude, Fanny & Felix Mendelssohn and Johannes Brahms, furthermore, their exploration extended to less well-known contemporary composers as well.
