In his literary works, Ferdinand von Schirach describes to brilliant effect the narrow line between good and evil, between man and the crimes he commits. He tells of solitude and alienation, of his characters’ striving for happiness – and their failure to achieve it. All his books are bestsellers, and many of them have been filmed for TV or the cinema. Accompanied on the piano by William Youn, Ferdinand von Schirach reads variations on his work, alternating with the Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach.
