The concert programme of the Elbphilharmonie and the Laeiszhalle cannot go ahead as planned due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Two 19th century composers likewise gave their imagination free rein: Robert Schumann in Germany and Niels Gade in Denmark picked up their pens and wrote marvellous »Stimmungsbilder«, mood pictures that enchanted audiences – the »Fantasiestücke« turned into real box-office hits.
