Fear and terror reign in Hinterland. A dragon has arrived from a distant land, and King von Zickig and his subjects fear the worst. The king calls on all the knights in the country to catch the dragon and to drive it away. Krabumm the Knight comes along with his loyal companion »Pferd« (Horse) to help defeat the dragon. However, they soon begin to wonder: everyone keeps telling them about this terrifying dragon, but everything seems to be perfectly fine wherever they go. When they finally find the dragon, they realise that he is just terribly sad and lonely.
