In the new programme for their 2022 tour, the internationally well-known »fun formation« of the Munich Philharmonic once again mixes different musical genres to create a highly entertaining cocktail of tunes, garnished with interludes from the presenters that are simply a scream. (The name »Blechschaden« is a play on words: »Blech« means the brass section of an orchestra, while »Blechschaden« refers to bodywork damage on a car.)
The group is led by a Scotsman, Bob Ross, who has a pretty ebullient sense of humour. For all the professionalism that the members of the group bring to their work, Blechschaden’s prime objective is to make sure that the audience enjoys the music.
The newspaper Münchner Merkur aptly described the ensemble’s special ability thus: »Blechschaden dissolves all the boundaries between serious and light music with consummate skill«.
