Boulanger Trio
»Ein Fest für Fanny und Felix« / »A Feast for Fanny and Felix«
»A Feast for Fanny and Felix« is the title of the Boulanger Trio’s latest programme, with a very serious message behind the humorous title. The quality of Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel’s works is in no way inferior to that of her contemporaries. However, her compositions were withheld by her family for a long time and only published long after her death. Thus, Fanny never received the public attention she deserved – unlike her brother Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. The Boulanger Trio deliberately presents piano trios by Fanny and her famous brother Felix side-by-side. Fittingly, the programme concludes with the modern, atonal »Song without Words« by Swiss contemporary Michael Jarrell.
