Benjamin Clementine
According to German weekly DIE ZEIT, »No-one suffers with such perfect elegance as Benjamin Clementine«. The British singer-songwriter has enjoyed sensation status since the release of his first album »At Least For Now« in 2015. His voice, which covers the finest nuances between a whisper and a scream, is compared with Anohni, Aretha Franklin and Rufus Wainwright. The music itself uses heart-warming poetry to deal with universal themes like loneliness and rejection, and yet it can’t be pigeonholed: there’s a little jazz, a dash of soul and a soupçon of the chanson –and then there are moments reminiscent of Luciano Pavarotti or Erik Satie, who he says are role models for him. As the singer himself puts it: »I don’t belong to any genre, I’m just Benjamin«.
