A fascinating era in Naples history

For the past 40 years, the Ensemble Micrologus and its director Patrizia Bovi have devoted their efforts entirely to Italian medieval music and have rediscovered countless works. On the day before their concert at the »Viva Napoli« festival, the musicians invite you to a workshop discussion as an opportunity to introduce themselves and their programme of music.

»Napoli aragonese« presents the music of the Aragonese court, which hailed from Spain and ruled in Naples during the 15th century. The music of this period is unique in that it combines Spanish, Italian and many other styles from across the Mediterranean. Patrizia Bovi and her ensemble will introduce their instruments at the workshop, as well as play some works featuring in the programme and reveal more about this fascinating Naples epoch – the perfect introduction and prelude to the concert on 22 November.

The discussion will be in Italian, English and German.

Elbphilharmonie PLUS is a programme that opens up different ways of looking at the music performed at the Elbphilharmonie – either to supplement a concert, or as an experience in its own right. Interdisciplinary encounters and exhibitions form part of the Elbphilharmonie+ programme, as do concert talks and films shown in museums, libraries, cinemas and community centres.
