Description

Based in England’s capital city, Tamsin Waley-Cohen has built up an impressive network of connections within the music scene of her home country. Staying true to her roots, she brings Huw Watkins, pianist and duo partner for many years, with her to Hamburg. In addition to a solo career, Tamsin Waley-Cohen is the Artistic Director of her own concert series at London’s Tricycle Theatre – as British as it gets!

Her recital programme revolves around England and includes Edward Elgar’s Sonata in E minor as well as a commissioned work. Claude Debussy’s Sonata in G minor and Sergei Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 1 for violin, which he composed during the Second World War, add some continental European spirit.
