Description

The versatile and likeable Armida Quartett is on its way to the top not only due to its first prize at the ARD Music Competition in 2012. Captivating concerts are its trademark; its CD recordings are highly acclaimed. The quartet performs at major international festivals regularly and its musicians tutor young talent in their fields. At their performance in Hamburg at the »Rising Stars« festival, the four musicians reveal themselves as all-rounders when it comes to their repertoire.

As the founder of the string quartet, Joseph Haydn is a requisite for a quartet’s music programme. Also lined up: a Romantic work by Mendelssohn, the rhythmic drive of Janáček’s »Kreutzer Sonata« and a brand-new commission by Serbian composer, electronic musician and DJ Marko Nikodijevic. Quite a juicy agenda for the Meet the Artist discussion with the Armida Quartet before the start of the concert!
