Als leidenschaftlicher Bewunderer Robert Schumanns hat sich der zeitgenössische Komponist und Klarinettist Jörg Widmann immer wieder für die »Märchenerzählungen« für Klarinette, Viola und Klavier op. 132 eingesetzt. Gerade mit Blick auf die Kondition ist dieser Zyklus, der in seiner aparten Instrumentalbesetzung eine hinreißende Klanglichkeit entfaltet, für ihn besonders anspruchsvoll. Das gilt natürlich auch für die »Hommage à Robert Schumann« op. 15 oder »Signs, Games and Messages« des ungarischen Zeitgenossen György Kurtág oder für die hochromantischen Acht Stücke op. 83 von Max Bruch. Mit Jörg Widmann, der auch seine eigene Fantasie für Klarinette solo vorstellt, musizieren der französische Bratschist Antoine Tamestit und der Schweizer Pianist Francesco Piemontesi. Mozart, der die Klarinette vor allem durch seinen Freimaurer-Bruder Anton Stadler liebengelernt hatte, schrieb für sie unter anderem das Trio Es-Dur KV 498, das den Beinamen »Kegelstatt-Trio« erhielt, obwohl nicht erwiesen ist, dass es wirklich während einer Kegelpartie komponiert wurde.

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
