Description

On his latest album »Into the Silence«, Avishai Cohen – a trumpeter who was born in Israel in 1978 but who now lives in New York – used music to come to terms with his father’s death in a striking way. It is an album with an elegiac, melancholic feel, and one that frequently evokes memories of Miles Davis. However, Cohen also includes more aggressive post-bop sounds in his repertoire; his quartet captivates with organic interplay and focussed intensity.

Please note: The Recital Hall Foyer is currently not accessible owing to renovation work currently being carried out. A cloakroom for guests will be provided on the Plaza in close vicinity to the entrance of the Recital Hall. Some intermission refreshments will also be on offer on the Plaza.
