This season’s »State of the Art« series throws the spotlight on three of the most important figures in contemporary music: György Kurtág, Luigi Nono and Rebecca Saunders. Pierre-Laurent Aimard sets Kurtág alongside Franz Schubert in his recital. Nono, who would have turned 100 in 2024, gets his own concert featuring works that include the electronically enhanced vocal composition »Quando stanno morendo«. Several works by this year’s resident composer Saunders are also combined to form a dancing musical collage. And the world-famous Arditti Quartet celebrates its 50th anniversary with its pick of the best that the 20th and 21st centuries have to offer.
