Song Recital: Georg Nigl / Olga Pashchenko
»Vanitas« – Songs by Franz Schubert, Ludwig van Beethoven and Wolfgang Rihm
When singing greats such as Olga Peretyatko, Georg Nigl and Bejun Mehta perform in the intimate setting of a song recital (»Liederabend«), the potential for goosebumps is high indeed.
One voice, one piano – that’s all a lieder recital needs to open up a whole new world. Some of the great singers of our time embrace this intimate concert format: the baritone Georg Nigl presents an intimate »Vanitas« programme, and the soprano Olga Peretyatko sings lullabies from three different centuries. Her compatriot Mikhail Petrenko performs great Romantic works, while countertenor Bejun Mehta sings love songs from Haydn to Britten.
