Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy Jazz in the spotlight: at the Jazz Academy, young musicians get a chance to learn from professionals and to perform together in a closing concert

Jazz all week long

The »Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy« gives you the chance to stand on stage at the Elbphilharmonie and learn from big jazz names like Anat Cohen or Yaron Herman. It offers jazz musicians aged from 16 to 30 the opportunity to spend a week working with well-known musicians and teachers in group workshops and individual trainings, working up a programme which everyone will present together at the finale in the Grand Hall.

Since 2021, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg has organized the »Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy« every two years. Jazz greats such as Theo Croker, Donny McCaslin and Julia Hülsmann act as mentors for the young jazz musicians for a week. From Japan to Israel to the USA - the talented musicians often travel a long way to take part in the Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy. The final concert in the Great Hall marks the culmination of an intensive, creative and highly emotional time together at the Elbphilharmonie for both teachers and participants.

The next »Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy« is scheduled to take place in summer 2025.
