15 selected jazz talents, six top-class instructors and a week of jazz, jazz, jazz. After an intensive week, the »Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy« again culminated in a sold-out concert in the Grand Hall of the Elbphilharmonie in 2023.
Every two years, the »Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy« offers talented young jazz musicians the opportunity to learn from professionals at eye level and to put together a mature concert program in the Grand Hall of the Elbphilharmonie - including many original compositions. This year, the teaching team included such greats as Anat Cohen, Donny McCaslin, Clarice Assad, Sullivan Fortner, Martin Wind and Matt Wilson. The goal of the week-long master class is to create a lasting network of young musicians and to pave the way for new formations to pursue a professional jazz career.
