Teodor Currentzis is one of today's most interesting and successful artists. In his radically subjective interpretations, the conductor with Greek and Russian roots seeks out the unconventional aspects of the music and celebrates the thrill of the moment. His spectacular appearances with the musicAeterna choir and orchestra that he founded have brought him international fame. In 2018 he took up the position of music director with the re-formed SWR Symphony Orchestra. »What he has achieved there with a completely new orchestra is already more than spectacular« – thus a recent review in the Hamburg press. In the 2020/21 season, Teodor Currentzis appears at the Elbphilharmonie with his choir and orchestra in four exciting new projects.
