Austrian bass-baritone Florian Boesch is one of the great lieder singers of our time. Critics praise him for his »wonderfully flexible and beautiful voice« and for a »pianissimo that gets under one’s skin«. In the new season, Hamburg’s music lovers have the chance to hear for themselves: the Grammy-nominated singer appears at the Elbphilharmonie no fewer than five times. Two of these concerts are intimate song recitals, and on two other evenings Boesch can be heard in sumptuous oratorios, including Schumann’s colourful »Das Paradies und die Peri«. Last but not least, he sings vividly expressive Bach cantatas together with the soprano Anna Prohaska.
