Yann Tiersen, a native of Brittany, is one of the most highly-regarded musicians of his generation. He laid the foundations for his international reputation with his first three solo albums, which were combined in 2001 to create the platinum-winning soundtrack to the hit film »Amélie«. But Tiersen is not only a film composer; he is also a musician with unusual ideas.

Thus he came up with the plan to compose and record a complete album during a cycle trip around the world. The world is his inspiration, and the sounds of nature and urban life can be heard in his works.

His latest release »Eusa« is a collection of ten pieces, including the new track »Porz Goret«, which relates to his place of birth, an island off the Breton coast called Ouessant. The music of this French multi-instrumentalist, which is heard here in a completely classical guise, is highly varied, ranging from dark, atmospheric études and classical pieces for piano and violin to experimental tracks with rap, loops, Kraut rock and post-rock.
