When the cello danced with the guitar
NDR Family Concert / 3 years old+
Once upon a time there was a Norwegian poet, named Holberg, who was greatly admired by his fellow countrymen. 200 years later, a man named Edvard Grieg, also a Norwegian, composed the »Holberg Suite« to commemorate this poet. Grieg wondered: How did people dance at birthday parties back then? What does it sound like as they float over the dance floor? Or when they’re in a crazily good mood? How does a child dance who feels like they’re in a whirlwind? With all these questions in mind, he began to compose. The resulting work can be heard in this concert, where the cello and guitar invite us to dance along.
