Ute Lemper
Milan, Sydney, Hong Kong – Münster native Ute Lemper boards aircraft like other people get on a bus. In the Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall the singer, actress and chanson queen presents a programme that covers the three cities that have a special place in her heart: Berlin, Paris and New York. She revives the charm of the old Berlin with Brecht’s »Threepenny Opera« and classic songs like »Lili Marleen«, then she moves over to France with delightful chansons by Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf and Léo Ferré. Finally, Ute Lemper pays tribute to the music of American and to her chosen home of New York with extracts from »Cats«, the musical that launched her international career back in 1983, from »Chicago«, »An American in Paris« and »Cabaret«.
