Über die Wirkmächtigkeit von Literatur und Musik – Harbour Front Sounds
Get out of the racism trap
Tupoka Ogette is a trainer and consultant for criticism of racism and anti-racism in the German-speaker countries. Her 2017 guide »exit RACISM. Rassismuskritisch denken lernen« was a SPIEGEL bestseller. In 2019 Ogette was voited one of the 25 most influential women of the year by the magazine Edition F. In her new book »Und jetzt du.«, Ogette gives suggestions for how to behave towards others in a racism-critical manner.
Celina Bostic became known as a background singer with Udo Lindenberg, Max Herre and Herbert Grönemeyer before she embarked on a solo career in 2006. Two years ago, she released the song »Nie wieder leise«, an empowering anthem for Black People.
Tupoka Ogette and Celina Bostic know at first hand what it’s like to suffer discrimination, what exclusion feels like. But they also know how to stand up to it, and what needs to be done to create a spirit of cooperation. At the Harbour Front Sounds Festival they appear together to talk about the importance and impact of music and literature in resistance struggles.
