Trio Marvin
Beethoven / Schubert – 2G
Milestones of chamber music
Curtains up: the three Piano Trios, Opus 1 were Ludwig van Beethoven’s first official compositions. Piano Trio No. 3 in C Minor was a particular success: it conquered the hearts of the Viennese public. The work embodies Beethoven’s dark, wild and tragic side, and is full of compositional surprises – a masterpiece by the then-25-year-old composer.
In contrast, there is no gloom or wildness to be found in the work of the then-30-year-old Schubert. What awaits the audience is a generous spectrum of emotion, from carefree joy to heart-breaking despair.
The Marvin Trio is one of Germany’s leading chamber music ensembles. With creative playing and an eye for detail, they invite you to experience the contrast of chamber music masterpieces composed in Vienna.
