Star Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen have enjoyed a special relationship ever since they first collaborated in 2002. Over the course of their numerous concerts together a deep friendship characterised by musical curiosity has developed. In 2017 the orchestra sealed this friendship with a special honorary title when Pekka Kuusisto was appointed »Artistic Best Friend«.
Please note: Pekka Kuusisto is regrettably unable to perform the solo part of the violin concerto due to an arm injury. Violinist Vilde Frang has kindly agreed to step in. Pekka Kuusisto conducts the concerto, the programme remains unchanged.
