Tangerine Dream
»Quantum of Electronic Evolution«
Together with Kraftwerk, they were and remain one of the icons of German synthesizer music: the band Tangerine Dream was founded in Berlin in the late 1960s, and is among the pioneers of electronic music. They first created a sensation at a gig in 1970, when they combined a total of 12 pinball machines, a guitar, a cello and percussion on stage. Over the decades, Tangerine Dream has changed their line-up many times; the one faithful member was the founder, Edgar Froese. After his death in 2015, Thorsten Quaeschning, his companion of many years, took up where Froese left off: together with Ulrich Schnauss und Hoshiko Yamane, he carries on the work on Froese’s last, unfinished album »Quantum Gate«.
