Tamikrest means »junction« or »alliance« in the language of the Tuareg, a traditional nomadic people from the Sahara. It is a fitting name for a band that so successfully combines the values of their timeless culture with their music. Traces of dub, blues, psychedelia, funk and art rock flow into Tamikrest’s modern interpretation of traditional Tuareg music. The band performs their new album »Kidal« in the Elbphilharmonie Recital Hall.
