Symphoniker Hamburg / Sir Roger Norrington

The Symphoniker Hamburg is launching a new series for the 2017/18 season with three concerts on Sunday mornings. Together with the EuropaChorAkademie – a professional ensemble of enthusiastic young musicians from more than 25 countries – it has designed the new matinee concerts with a focus on choral music. In the first concert the musical journey starts in the Baroque period with Bach’s jubilant Magnificat in D major. That piece is followed by Schubert’s Fifth Mass, which evokes magnificent Romantic soundscapes.
