New Year’s Eve Concert: Beethoven’s »Ninth«
Start the New Year on a joyous note: is there a better piece of classical music with which to kick off the year than Beethoven’s passionate Ninth Symphony? In a psychological symphonic journey »through darkness towards light«, the piece conveys a priceless and deeply humanitarian message. Setting to music Schiller’s »Ode to Joy«, it conjures with great emotional exuberance a vision of a society of equals. The Symphoniker Hamburg, conducted by Eivind Gullberg Jensen, is supported by an outstanding ensemble of soloists and a choir put together specially for this project.
