Sistanagila

In response to recent political tensions, Berlin-based Israeli and Iranian musicians have come together to seek dialogue through the universal language of music. The hope is that this process of artistic exchange will make it possible to deal with the conflict in an open and sensitive way. In order to express the religious elements as well as the more modern, national identities of these cultures, the musicians draw on folk and religious melodies from klezmer, Sephardic and traditional Persian music as well as modern and classical compositions.
