Seong-Jin Cho / Klavierabend
Händel / Gubaidulina / Brahms
Poet at the piano
He is a master of subtle tones – his Mozart is sparkling and clear, his Chopin transparent and intense, his Debussy full of shimmering colour. Since he won the prestigious Chopin Competition in 2015, Seong-Jin Cho has delighted millions of music lovers with his six albums released on the Deutsche Grammophon label. And not only in his native South Korea, where he enjoys pop-star status, but worldwide. For all his success, the pianist, who now lives in Berlin, has remained surprisingly modest: he admitted in an interview with BR Klassik: »To be honest, I’m really not interested in fame. What I want to do is give concerts!« And we are more than willing to believe him.
