Schulkonzert »Innere Ruhe«
Klasse 5–6
Meditation and poetry slam
People have been using meditation to achieve peace of mind for centuries. In most cases, the method involves consciously directing thoughts to concentrate fully on one thing. The world-famous Tonhalle-Orchester and its chief conductor Paavo Järvi are convinced that music can have a similar effect to meditation. In their concert, they flood the Elbphilharmonie with the warm, calming sounds of the composers Arvo Pärt and Anton Bruckner. An imaginary journey – performed by Ortwin Bader-Iskraut, the winner of the German-language Poetry Slam Championship in 2021 – invites the audience to let their thoughts wander freely into the distance. And best of all: the schoolchildren present the concert themselves in the form of short poetry slams developed together in workshops beforehand.
