Eight hands, four pianists, two concert grands: tonight’s recital at the Laeiszhalle is devoted entirely to the piano. Showpieces of technique such as Czerny’s arrangement of the Bellini opera »Romeo and Juliet« alternate with classical piano pieces by Rachmaninov and Smetana. But the programme also features well-known tunes: Mozart’s overture to »The Marriage of Figaro« and Bizet’s »Carmen« shine with a new dynamic in arrangements for two pianos.
