Regensburger Domspatzen
»Vater Unser«
From earth to heaven
The Regensburger Domspatzen are one of the oldest and most renowned boys’ choirs in the world. The cathedral school of St. Peter’s Cathedral in Regensburg was founded as far back as 975 AD. It is here that the choir boys receive their musical training from primary school age onwards. Back then, pupils were entrusted for the most part with liturgical singing in the bishop’s church. Nowadays, the boys collaborate with top ensembles including Concerto Köln and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. Concert tours also take the Domspatzen all over the world at regular intervals. To Japan and South Africa, the USA and China, the Vatican and the official residence of the German President. In their concert in the Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall, they perform various interpretations of »Our Father«, the prayer of prayers, allowing the compositions to resound across history, from masters of the Renaissance to modern arrangements.
