Mieczysław Weinberg composed a total of 17 string quartets. Quatuor Danel brought out a complete recording of them ten years ago that won critical acclaim without exception: »10 out of 10 for exciting music and gripping readings by an exciting ensemble!«. To mark the 100th anniversary of the Soviet composer’s birth in 2019, the Danels are performing all his quartets at the Elbphilharmonie: at this concert, Quartets nos. 11 – 13 are on the programme.
