Double bass player and conductor Nabil Shehata is one of the most exceptional young artists of our time. He won the First Prize and the Audience Award at the ARD Competition when he was very young, and he was 1st Double Bass Soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic from 2004–2008. He later turned his attention to conducting, and he is now the Chief Conductor Designate of the Philharmonie Südwestfalen.
