Greg Lake of Emerson, Lake & Palmer described the Mandoki Soulmates as »one of the world’s best bands«. Under Leslie Mandoki, the musicians exhibit the highest level of improvisational skill and an infectious joy in music. The programme includes old Soulmates classics as well as the suite »Hungarian Pictures«, which is based on Béla Bartók themes and which can be seen as a redefinition of progressive jazz/rock.
