With »Seelenlust«, Felix Klieser and the chamber ensemble CHAARTS embark on an exploration of the heyday of Baroque and Classical music.

The horn was added as an equal solo instrument to the ranks of the flute and violin, the piano and cello at the latest with the works of the two Viennese masters Mozart and Haydn; these led to the composition of a wealth of outstanding works for the former »hunting instrument«, many of which are still little-known. This music in turn even pushed ahead the technical development of the horn – until the valve was invented at the end of the 18th century, each note had to be played using lip pressure. The Baroque arias from his CD »Beyond Words« bring out a completely new aspect of the horn: in arias and chorales by Bach, Vivaldi and Handel the horn assumes the role of the human voice. A master of the instrument like Felix Klieser manages here to make melodic arcs weightless and to turn nuanced timbres into a pure delight for the soul.
