At a poetry slam, talented young literati compete against each other on stage with their own texts – the audience selects a winner at the end. Offering the most frequent number of slam events in the country, Hamburg has been the powerhouse of poetry slams for some time now: there are big and small slams, some are elegant and classic, others pensive and prosaic, but always terrific. Germany’s best poets compete at »Best of Poetry Slam«, while living legend Michel Abdollahi hosts the event.
