Piotr Beczała is one of today’s most sought-after tenors, appearing regularly in top opera houses all over the world. His most recent appearance was at the Vienna State Opera, where he sang the part of Lohengrin in Wagner’s eponymous work as well as the Prince in Dvořák’s »Rusalka«. At the Elbphilharmonie, Beczała performs a varied programme of 19th and early 20th century music.
This concert is a journey through the world of opera and operetta: from songs by Franz Lehár through Francesco Paolo Tosti’s romance to »L’ultima canzone« to famous arias from Verdi and Puccini operas. Beczała is accompanied by Kristin Okerlund on the piano and members of the Vienna Philharmonic – the Vienna Soloists Quartet.
