Piotr Anderszewski / Piano Recital
Please note the change of programme!
Tradition and modernity
When the Polish pianist Piotr Anderszewski takes to the stage, he doesn’t need showmanship or special effects to mesmerise his audience. Despite all the technical mastery and his clear analytical view, he never loses sight of the Romantic roots of his art, which transforms his playing into pure magic.
Anderszewski keeps returning to Bach, who composed his partitas of 1726–1731 »for music lovers, to refresh their spirits« – giving the field of piano music one of its early great masterpieces. From his Polish homeland, Anderszewski also brings a collection of mazurkas by Karol Szymanowski – less well known than those of his compatriot Frédéric Chopin, perhaps, but no less captivating.
The programme of the second part of the concert has been changed: Piotr Anderszewski will play Anton Webern’s »Variationen op. 27« and Beethoven’s Sonata op. 110.
